Project: The Last Circle

As a tribute to their late friend Pete Sims, a group of people crowdfunded the creation of a new forrest on the island of Samsø, Denmark. As a friend of Pete myself I had the responsibility of creating a landmark. The work consists of a circle or raised stones inlaid with circular bronze ornaments. After the model was turned in wood, the bronze pieces were sand-cast and patinated before being inlaid into the diabase stone. During installation, steel rebars were used to anchor the stones in a small concrete footing.
